DC Metro Branch Trail, Phase 1

Bikes Belong's first-ever grant was to the Washington Area Bicycling Association (WABA) to help develop the Metro Branch Trail. When finished, this complex, multi-year project will provide a non-motorized route from northeast D.C. to downtown, linking seven Metro stations.

NYC Riverside Connector, Phase 1

Bikes Belong gave a $10,000 grant to Transportation Alternatives to support their work on the Riverside South Connector of the Hudson River Greenway in New York City. The multi-use path, on Manhattan's Upper Westside, runs along the Hudson River between 59th and 72nd Streets, and is a great route for bike commuters as well as recreational riders.

San Francisco Bike Network, Phase 1

Bikes Belong awarded a $9,860 grant to the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition for their work on their Bicycle Network, which utilizes low-traffic streets, bike lanes, and paths to provide safe, relatively flat routes between most of San Francisco's residential and business areas.

Los Angeles Riverway, Phase 1

Bikes Belong awarded a $10,000 grant to the LACBC to continue their work on the LA River Bikeway. Cyclists, environmentalists, and transportation professionals all expressed enthusiasm for the LA River Bikeway project, as it promises to reduce congestion and expand safe options for bike commuters.

Bicycle Advocacy Handbook
