A March 1 fundraiser in Washington, D.C., raised nearly $12,000 for BikesPAC—the bicycle industry’s political action committee. More than 80 supporters attended the event, which featured appearances by Senators Lincoln Chafee (R-RI), Michael Enzi (R-WY), and Craig Thomas (R-WY). All three Senators spoke, sharing personal stories about bicycling and voicing their support for our mission. Since 2003, BikesPAC has strategically donated to the campaigns of nearly 30 members of Congress—bicycling’s best supporters in Washington, D.C. In 2005 alone, BikesPAC contributed a total of $15,000 to the campaigns of 13 members of Congress.
