Making our case on Capitol Hill

March 29, 2011

The federal government continues to work on a new, multi-year transportation bill that will provide funding for highways, transit, and bicycling and walking. This week, the House Subcommittee on Highways & Transit held two days of hearings in which 40 experts on all aspects of transportation testified about federal priorities. John Burke, CEO of Trek Bicycle Corporation and a top supporter of Bikes Belong, was the one witness to speak on behalf of bicycling. The Bikes Belong team helped John prepare his comments, which make a powerful case for the cost-effectiveness and multiple benefits of the federal investment in bicycling. You can read John's written testimony here.
