At Bikes Belong, as we work to get more people riding bicycles more often, we have a couple of favorite sayings:
When people ride bikes, good things happen.
Anybody riding a bike—at any time and for any reason—is a good thing and should be supported.
I think both of these adages apply perfectly to Pedal to Properties
Bicycling is the perfect way to get to know a community:
See it, smell it, hear it, feel it.
Bicycling is the perfect way to select a home.
That’s why Pedal to Properties is such a great idea.
Coincidentally, Bikes Belong just moved into an office directly across the street.
We used to be on 13th Street above Brewing Market and Conor O’Neills.
We’re a national organization, but we love being based in Boulder and showing off its world-class bike facilities.
Back on 13th Street, we used to brag about the contra bike lane just out our window, and we’d tell the story about how downtown merchants sacrificed parking and loading space to make it easier to pedal straight through the heart of the city.
Now we’ve got Pedal to Properties just out our door. No doubt we’ll often tell our visitors how bicycling improves the process of getting to know a new town and buying a house.
I want to praise Matt Kolb and his Pedal to Properties staff. From everything I’ve seen, they really get bicycling and they’ve been consistently supportive.
Now, as they go nationwide, they’ll join Bikes Belong in working coast to coast to get people riding bikes more often. They’re adding a lot to the team.
Congratulations, Matt, and good luck!
