Encouraging Bicycling and Walking – National Conference of State Legislatures
The National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) has published a report, Encouraging Bicycling and Walking: The State Legislative Role, to outline best practices in state approaches to promoting biking and walking.
This report will help shape policy, influence decision makers, and facilitate efficient use of bicycle and pedestrian funding at the state level. Because state government is often responsible for distributing federal bicycle funding, this document will inspire bicycle-friendly policy that will lead to more bicycle facilities in communities nationwide.
